Mobilizing the Capacity of the Women's Training Sector

(completed June 2001)

The goals of this project were two-fold. First, to conduct a series of regional focus groups to facilitate a strategy development and capacity-building process in the women's employment and training sector in Ontario. Representatives from over 100 community agencies in York Region, Peterborough, and Halton participated in these sessions. Second, to follow-up on previous ACTEW analysis regarding the impact of recent federal, provincial and municipal policy changes on women's ability to access employment and training services. The final report from the earlier "Access Diminished" project is available as a PDF document. ACTEW received subsequent multi-year funding from Status of Women Canada to study the participation of women in training and employment services, in the "Putting Women in the Picture" Project.

This project was funded by Status of Women Canada-Ontario Region.
