The Ottawa Skills Training and Employment Programs Summit

Presented by: The Ottawa Women's Training and Employment Network (OWTEN) and ACTEW's Putting Women in the Picture Project

When: Thursday May 17, 2007 from 9:00am to 1:30pm

Where: City Hall, 111 Lisgar Street, Ottawa

It is estimated that over 50 million dollars per year is being invested to support skills training and employment programming in Ottawa. The purpose of this meeting to bring community stakeholders together to share the most current information on local skills training and employment programming activities.

Hear from all five major Government Ministries that support programs and services for the unemployed and under-employed in Ottawa.

Topics covered will include:

  • local programs, projects and partnerships;
  • data on the scope and diversity of populations served in current programming;
  • linkages of programs to Ottawa's workforce and economic development priorities.
