Skills and Knowledge Profile Online
(May 2001 - June 2003)

This project "digitizes" our print-based Skills and Knowledge Profile (SKP) workbook into an online database-driven self-assessment tool. Originally released as a print workbook in March 1999, the SKP has been used by literacy practitioners and employment counsellors as a coaching tool, as well as by union educators as a model to develop prior learning and assessment recognition programming. In the online version, users can complete a series of modules, guiding them through the process of identifying and validating their prior learning experiences and developing future learning plans. The Skills and Knowledge Profile Online will be available on the ACTEW web site in the summer of 2004.

Funding for the SKP Online is provided by the National Literacy Secretariat, the former New Approaches to Lifelong Learning Network, and the Government of Ontario, Ministry of Citizenship - Volunteer @ction.online Program.
