Advancing Referral Processes
(February - June 2008)

The Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities has funded ACTEW in partnership with Ontario Association of Youth Employment Centres to conduct Advancing Referral Processes, a project that will investigate the referral activities and strategies currently used by community-based agencies.

Focus groups with practitioners will explore the processes agencies employ as they make referrals with specific client groups. Gaps in services and other challenges will be identified as well as innovative and successful strategies agencies have developed to serve clients well. OAYEC's consulting and evaluative arm will conduct the focus groups.

There will be five focus groups:

• Practitioners serving women in urban settings
  April 18, 2008, 12:00-1:30, 215 Spadina Ave., Toronto

  April 22, 2008, 12:00-1:30 EST , via teleconference
  $10 Tim Horton gift certificate for each participant

• Practitioners serving youth in rural settings
  April 25, 2008, 12:00-1:30 EST, via teleconference
