Employment Perceptions of the Job Placement Process
(January - April 2004)

Starting in January 2004, ACTEW undertook a small-scale research project to look at the employer experiences and perceptions of the job placement process with community agencies. The goal is to document any best practices and challenges that employers and community agencies experience, and share this information with the hope of ultimately increasing the number of placements employers offer to community-based training clients. Interviews with 5 ACTEW member agencies and 7 employers that work with these agencies have been completed. A final report on the research will be made available soon. ACTEW will be using this preliminary research to identify areas where we could offer professional development workshops for our member agencies, or develop other resources for community agencies involved in client placement with private-sector employers.
