ACTEW Members’ Meeting: Sept 24

Our guest speaker was Fiona MacCool from CLEONet (Community Legal Education Ontario) Fiona presented CLEONet, showing attendees the legal resources and fact sheets available for service providers and their clients. Putting Women in the Picture Conference, Brantford, Oct 30 – 31
The Grand Erie Training and Adjustment Board, in coordination with ACTEW, is mounting the two-day conference to bring women from Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk together to explore women’s employment needs across the region. Registrations are still being accepted.

Manual two: Collaborative Technology Development
The Collaborative Technology Manual is the second in a series of “best practices” manuals based on the Constellation Project. The goal of manual two is to provide a forum through which voluntary organizations can explore the process of collaborating to develop technology tools. Both Manual One and Manual Two are available on the ACTEW website and can be downloaded for free. Hard copies of the manuals can be purchased by contacting ACTEW directly.

Trends, Opportunities and Priorities in Training 2007-2008 Survey
The Toronto Training Board is conducting an on-line survey as part of the consultation process to update the Trends, Opportunities and Priorities (TOP) Report. The TTB's mandate is to consult and communicate with the labour market stakeholders on an ongoing basis to identify trends, issues and opportunities in the labour market and address these issues through appropriate partnerships and projects. The results of survey findings together with other consultation will be used to update the TOP Report 2008.

Operating Occasional Child Care Programs under ISAP – Training
Childminding Monitoring, Advisory and Support (CMAS) is offering a two day workshop for ISAP programs interested in operating Occasional Child Care (OCC).
This two-day training will provide the tools to set up an OCC program. The workshop is designed for managers who are responsible for the initial development and operation of ISAP programs, as well as others who will work on the day to day operations of the program.

A critical symposium bringing together activists, academics, and artists.
