Content Guidelines
ACTEW.org is dedicated to serving the women's training
community of Ontario, providing relevant, current, and reliable
information about resources, services, issues and news pertaining
to issues affecting women's access to training, education and economic
self-sufficiency across Ontario. This policy outlines what constitutes
acceptable content, as well as what content is considered unacceptable.
What is Considered "Content"?
Content is defined as any item appearing on or
posted to any area of ACTEW.org, including (but not restricted to)
news, events, announcements, lists, documents, messages, discussion
forum postings, links, graphics, etc.
Guidelines for Posting Content
Content posted by users, or submitted by posting
must be pertinent to issues affecting women's access to training,
education and economic self-sufficiency across Ontario. ACTEW reserves
the right to edit or reject content that is not deemed appropriate
for the ACTEW web site. News, events, jobs listings, discussion
board messages and resources are welcomed from non-profit and community-based
organizations that are working in the employment, education, and
training sectors, and the women's community. While our focus is
on women's training issues, we will also post items on relevant
issues such as women's housing, violence against women, settlement
issues, anti-poverty resources, etc. As a non-profit agency we give
priority to posting content which is free or low-cost.
Guidelines:
- Site content may not promote partisan political
activities or display any information that is hateful, threatening,
abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or racially,
ethnically, sexually or otherwise objectionable.
- Activities that cause congestion or disruption
of the system are not permitted. Such activities include posting
large multimedia or software files, and spreading computer viruses.
- Personal information about other users or clients
should not be posted without their prior approval. Names of clients
or information that would allow another user to recognize a client
must never be posted.
- Copyright material may only be posted with prior
consent of the owner. Users who post material from another source
must credit that source.
- As a non-profit community-based organization,
ACTEW.org gives priority to posting content which is free or low-cost,
and we reserve the right to reject content submitted from a for-profit
source.
