Voluntary Sector Advisory Committee (VSAC)
The Service Canada Voluntary Sector Advisory Committee (VSAC) is comprised
of individuals across the country representing the makeup and diversity of
programs responding to the employment and social service needs of Canadians.
VSAC's origins go back to the Joint Service Canada/Voluntary Sector Working
Group that was established in July 2005 to help streamline administrative
practices and identify improvements in the ways Service Canada uses grants
and contributions processes with voluntary sector service deliverers.
Embracing the principles and values enshrined in the Voluntary Sector Accord
and the Codes of Good Practice on funding and policy dialogue,
the Joint Working Group and interim Committee built considerable goodwill
and momentum to develop strategies to reduce administrative burden within
Service Canada's management of contribution agreements.
ACTEW's Executive Director, Jen Liptrot, is a member of the committee and
sits as the Voluntary Sector Co-Chair. This page has been set up to provide
background documents related to the work of the committee, as well as
updates as the committee's work goes forward.
